Anivin de France announces Best Value Vin de France winners
Over 150 wines have been awarded medals in this year’s Best Value Vin de France Selection at a blind tasting held in Paris early February.
Run by Anivin de France, the trade organisation that promotes wines with the Vin de France denomination, the tasting is designed to find the best value wines from within the category with which to promote it over the course of the year.
In total, 510 wines were entered into the tasting (an increase of 11% versus 2017), from 108 different companies (an increase of 14%).
One hundred and fifty-one wines from 53 companies were awarded medals, 53 received a gold and 98 silver.
Red wines just pipped whites to the greater number of gold medals with 25 to 24 and four rosés also received golds.
Among the silvers meanwhile white wines dominated picking up 48 medals compared with 38 reds and 12 rosés.
The wines were judged by an international panel of 33 international buyers from across 13 countries and four continents including: the UK, US, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland and Ireland and from companies such as: Tesco, Majestic, Musgrave, Edeka, Dan Murphy’s, Total Wine & More and Hanos.
Valérie Pajotin, director of Anivin de France, said: “It’s very satisfying to see the number of entrants rise every year, the figures underline the very real attraction of Vin de France for both French producers and the consumers in export markets.
“Once again our international panel were very enthusiastic with the quality of the wines presented to them.
“I can’t wait to present the medal-winning wines at our stand at ProWein next month and at Vinexpo Hong Kong in May as well as in our upcoming marketing activities for 2018.”
The wines will be available to taste on the Anivin de France stand Hall 11 / A89 at ProWein from 18-20 March and at Vinexpo HK from 29-31 May on Level 3 / N50.
