Chris Hancock, a former corporate finance director for JP Morgan, has been appointed as the chairman of market research firm Wine Intelligence.

Hancock’s appointment follows the retirement of former chairman David Scotland after a decade in the role.
With 25 years of experience in corporate finance under his belt, Hancock is currently a partner and CFO of Farm Street LLP, non-executive director at Inspecs Holdings Ltd and non-executive director of Icelandic Water Holdings.
“We are excited that Chris is part of our team. He has worked with us on and off for a number of years, chiefly on the corporate finance side, and brings a deep knowledge of business growth in an international context.
“I am looking forward to working with him on the next phase of the company’s development,” said Lulie Halstead, chief executive of Wine Intelligence.
Prior to joining Wine Intelligence, David Scotland had various roles in the drinks industry, working for everyone from John Harvey & Sons and Cinzano to Allied-Domecq, where he was president of Europe for the company.
Scotland remains chairman of Thomas Preston & Associates, one of the UK’s leading business coaching firms.
“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to David for his decade of service to Wine Intelligence,” said Halstead.
“His thoughtful and timely advice has allowed us to grow the business into a global leader in market research for our category, and his expertise in people development has positively influenced a whole generation of Wine Intelligence staff. We will miss him greatly and wish him well,” she added.
