Italian wine house Cantina di Soave is expanding its production facility after the firm saw a 6% rise in sales in 2017, according to new figures.

The Veronese winery, which has been operating since 1898, boasts 6,000 hectares of vineyards in Northern Italy, specialising in Valpolicella, Soave and Durello wines.
The total value of conferred grapes increased to €81m (£71.3m), while remuneration payouts for same amounted to €63.5m.
Net assets reached €57m euros this year, with an overall profit of just over €1.8m for 2017.
Following the news, the winery announced it will begin expanding its production facilities to cope with rising demand. The new project will involve a re-organisation of the entire complex, from grape reception area to the bottling lines.
The new facility will be able to produce around 80 million bottles, almost triple the current production level, according to Cantina.
Cantina di Soave said that heavy investments are being made in public works amounting to over 7 million euros, largely in green belts and traffic improvements, which will benefit the entire community.
“Management policies during the 2016-17 period were completely in line with those of preceding years,” said Cantina’s general manager Bruno Trentini.
“The company has continued to follow its policy of reinforcing its core brands, within the larger policy of promoting the denomination areas and maximising member profits. 80% of our production, in fact, derives from native-grape wines.”
Cantina di Soave’s president Attilio Carlesso added that the wine group’s portfolio of vineyards now make €63.5m (£55.9m) per year from their annual harvests, the equivalent of around €12,000 per hectare, “figures that were impossible even just a few years ago.”
