Intelligent Choice

MARKET research and strategy consultancy, Wine Intelligence has reached the final of the 2005 HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards, an annual search for the most promising young firm.

Wine Intelligence has beaten stiff competition from hundreds of other young enterprises to be named one of HSBC’s 10 finalists. Daughter and father team Lulie Halstead and Brian Howard started Wine Intelligence in March 2002 after identifying a niche opportunity in the global wine market.

The three-year old company is now hoping to go on and claim the title of HSBC Start-Up Star 2005, along with the cash prize of £20,000, at a gala awards dinner on October 13 at London’s Savoy Hotel. A runnerup will be presented with a cheque for £5,000.
