The 15 cheapest cities in the world for a pint of beer

They say that life is too short to drink cheap beer, but there’s no denying a good deal on a pint makes it taste all the sweeter.

Honest Coffees compared the cost of beer in 30 capital cities.

As the craft beer industry continues to boom, the average price of a pint is on the rise, but there are still plenty of places to find a good-value brew.

Earlier this year, a new study comparing the price of consumer goods in popular tourist hotspots shone a light on where to find the world’s cheapest beer.

The research – conducted by ethical coffee supplier Honest Coffees – ranked 30 of the world’s most prestigious capital cities according to the price of beer, wine, vodka and soft drinks in bars, pubs, restaurants and cafés.

While London, Paris were found to be some of the worst offenders for high drinks mark-ups, the majority of cities in this list are outside of the EU.

The plunging pound will go further in South and Central America, with prices in Rio de Janeiro, Lima and Mexico City all dwarfed by those in London.

But you’re planning a trip to Berlin, you’re in luck. Munich may be the home of Oktoberfest, but the German capital came out on top as the cheapest city to buy a pint in the country.

From Cairo to Canada, keep scrolling to see where you can get the most value out of your round.
