Peter Webster joins British Bottle Company
The British Bottle Company has brought in Peter Webster as its new head of sales as it seeks to expand its export portfolio.
Webster (pictured) is the former head of export at Belvoir Fruit Farms for six years, during which he increased the company’s international sales from £800,000 to over £5 million per year – making it one of the UK’s most successful food and drink exporters.
Founded in 2014, The British Bottle Company manages exports for a wide range of British wine, beer, cider and spirits brands and was responsible for sending the first ever container of English sparkling wine to the US last October.
In addition to bringing Webster onto the team, the company has just added Sheppy’s Cider and Big Drop Brewing to its export portfolio.
Sheppy’s is one of the oldest cider producers in the world, being founded in 1816, while Big Drop Brewing in Kent is rather younger, having been founded in 2016 but is Britain’s first company dedicated to producing drinks at and below 0.5% ABV.
Founder and CEO of The British Bottle Company, Red Johnson, said: “Peter is one of Britain’s leading export professionals, I knew from the moment I met him that we needed him in the business. I am also really excited to have two outstanding new brands, Sheppy’s Cider and Big Drop Brewing joining the portfolio; both representing the best that Britain has to offer.”
Webster added: “I am thrilled to be joining the British Bottle Company after many successful years growing the Belvoir Fruit Farms brand around the world. “It is a great opportunity to move into a very exciting business and bring my experience to the table to help continue the rapid growth & expansion that the British Bottle Company has seen over recent years.”
