The Asian Sparkling Masters 2017 now open for entries

Entries are now open for Asia’s biggest and most intensive sparkling wine competition, The Asian Sparkling Masters 2017, following the successful Asian Cabernet Sauvignon Masters, Asian Chardonnay Masters, Asian Riesling/Sauvignon Blanc Masters competitions.

Sparking wines from Champagne to Prosecco and Cava are enjoying a global boom and the trend is expected to grow in the next few years. The category is predicted to register more than 43% growth between 2016 and 2020, much higher than still wine’s 19% growth, according to a joint report by Vinexpo and IWSR.

The competition aims to discover the best sparkling wines available in Asia that are looking to tap into the massive market. An expert panel of judges including Master Sommeliers, Master of Wines and Hong Kong’s top trade buyers will blind taste and assess all the sparkling and semi-sparkling wines.

The panel will award the best wines with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals with those considered outstanding achieving the ultimate accolade of ‘Master’.

At a cost of HK$1,540 per wine, entries are now being accepted for the competition, and each producer must submit three samples.

The results and analysis will be published in the drinks business Hong Kong magazine, online and across all our social media platforms. The results will also be sent out in a newsletter in both English and Chinese.
