Aymeric de Gironde, general manager of Saint Estèphe estate Cos d’Estournel is to leave and take up a new role at Château Troplong-Mondot it has been announced.
In a statement from the château, Michel Reybier, Cos d’Estorunel’s owner, said: “After four years as general manager of Cos d’Estorunel, Aymeric de Gironde has decided to take a different direction in his career. I wish Aymeric all the best in his new challenge.”
Reybier also announced that he would be taking over de Gironde’s role himself, while the other managers of the various technical and business teams would remain the same.
De Gironde, meanwhile, is reportedly off to head up the team at Château Torplong-Mondot in St Emilion on the Right Bank of the Gironde river.
The estate was recently sold by Xavier Pariente to French insurance firm, Scor. As Pariente has said he will leave the property in October and de Gironde has said he will be taking up his new role in October, the likelihood is he will be heading up a new team at the property.
