Vinexpo merges major shows
Overseas activity cut in reorganisation
VINEXPO has decided to merge its two major shows outside France, creating a single entity called Vinexpo Overseas.
The decision was taken by the Vinexpo board of directors in mid April, but has only just been made public.
The new company will be responsible for organising all Vinexpo’s exhibitions outside France. The board also took the decision to hold just one exhibition next year in the spring of 2004 in the USA, although the organisers stressed that an exhibition would still be held in Asia in the future.
Talking to The Drinks Business in March, Robert Beynat had already indicated that such a merger might be on the books.
"With political events currently affecting the globe," he said, "it would be unwise to rush into a decision. If the market is sick, is ailing, it is our job to reflect that."
