Shush! It’s the new Hush
THE OWNERS of Hush restaurant in Mayfair, Jamie Barber and Geoffrey Moore, are remaining tight-lipped about their new venture in central London.
THEY say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and it appears that Living Ventures is paying a compliment to Soho’s Milk and Honey club with it’s new project, Prohibition.
The founders of the Living Room, Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts are launching a bar concept specialising in cocktails and an emphasis on customer service. "I believe there is a gap in the market for a bar that focuses on being a proper bar," said Bacon.

"We really don’t know any more details about it – honest," said their PR company as we went to press. What we do know is that they, or more properly their company Steamroller Restaurants PLC, has acquired the site formally occupied by Che on 23 St. James’s Street.
Che was a restaurant, bar and cigar lounge housed in the listed building that was formerly a bank and Steamroller has announced that a "major transformation" will take place at the site undertaken by Keith Hobbs of United Designers.
A new restaurant and bar will be unveiled in October this year. However, in a rather unusual move, Steamroller will run a temporary bar at the site from June 1 to the end of July in an effort to "get to know their local clientele".
