Bar staffed by robotic bartenders to open in Las Vegas

A new bar concept called Tipsy Robot, manned entirely by robots, is set to open in Las Vegas.

The robotic bar will open on 30 June on the Miracle Mile – a mile stretch of 200 shops in Las Vegas – featuring two cocktail-shaking robots capable of mixing bespoke cocktails on demand via tablets.

The bartending robots mirror the actions of human bartenders, from mixing and pouring, to the slicing of garnishes, and the choice of shaken versus stirred, with each beverage taking 70-90 seconds from order to completion.

Describing it as “the bar of the future, set in present-day Las Vegas”, its owner Rino Armeni said: “This is entertainment meets futuristic robotic technology and is perfectly positioned in the world’s premier hospitality destination. The robots are both entertainers and master mixologists programmed to prepare the perfect cocktail each and every time.”

While the robots will be doing much of the work, human staff, known as “Galactic Ambassadors”, will also be on hand to support the operation.

“People will be amazed when they see what these robots can do. It is craftsmanship personified,” added Armeni.
