Bordeaux 2016: Coutet follows Guiraud
Barsac estate Château Coutet has released its 2016 wine to négociants this morning, with no increase on the price of its 2015 vintage.
The château is following in the footsteps of fellow Sauternes property, Château Guiraud, which announced the price for its 2016 wine in late March, likewise with no increase in its ex-cellar release price.
Coutet is being offered at €26.40 per bottle ex-négoce, around £300 per case of 12 in the UK.
The two Sauternes estates are the most high profile wines to have emerged so far in these very early days of the 2016 campaign.
A number of petit châteaux have also been busy releasing wines early but with the trade only rather recently returned from Bordeaux it will likely be a little while yet before the campaign begins in earnest.
