Vinexpo marks 20 years in Hong Kong
Vinexpo will return to Hong Kong in 2018, marking its 20th year exhibiting in the city where it launched in 1998.
Bringing together the world’s biggest producers, suppliers and distributors keen to break into the growing markets in Asia Pacific, the show’s 2018 edition will take place from 29-31 May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
China is currently the world’s leading market for spirits, and is predicted to deliver the strongest growth between 2016 and 2020, according to Vinexpo, which estimates that imports will increase by 78% in the next four years.
“The future looks bright for China and the whole Asia-Pacific region,” said Vinexpo Hong Kong organisers. “On the 2020 horizon, the consumption of wines will rise by 12% in Korea, 14.3% in Taiwan and 10% in Vietnam.”
Vinexpo Hong Kong first launched in 1998 and was the first B2B exhibition ever organised in Asia. Twenty years later, the show has grown to become a strategic platform for importers, buyers and sommeliers working in the Asia-Pacific markets.
Vinexpo Bordeaux is held every two years, with Vinexpo HK taking place in the intervening years. There is also a Vinexpo Tokyo, a niche show specifically aimed at the Japanese market.
