Chapel Down launches French exports
English wine brand Chapel Down has launched its French exports during Paris Fashion Week, after securing a partnering with luxury wine distributor Perles Du Monde.
The English sparkling wine marked its new export deal at the opening night of Paris Fashion week in the Place Vendôme, this week, at an event with British cutting-edge couture brand, Ralph and Russo.
It is the second coup for the company this month, who announced a four-year sponsorship deal with the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race in early January, taking over from Bollinger, who sponsored the event between 2012 -2016.
Chapel Down managing director, Mark Harvey said he was humbled and excited to think Chapel Down would now be served in a country with such a long and successful history in the world of sparkling wine.
“The initial reaction has been overwhelmingly positive,” he said. “And what an occasion at which to launch – in the heart of Paris’s first arrondissement, the home of some of the world’s finest luxury brands.”
Perles du Monde founder, Philippe Gauthier, who was the general manager at Champagne Bollinger before founding the distribution company, said he was delighted to set up the partnership.
“The French market, particularly at the premium end, is open and excited to discover new quality sparkling wines from wonderful origins other than France,” he said.
The English winery announced it would start exporting its products to the United States in October, and is also available in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore, Copenhagen and Helsinki.
