Things to do during National Champagne Week

Brits will spend on average £28,956 on partying and make 724 toasts throughout their lives, that’s according to the organisers of National Champagne Week.

Taking place from 1-7 October, the event will see the finest purveyors of French Champagne take up residence at venues across the capital, and Bath, to host tastings, dinners and masterclasses.

Searcy’s, which founded the event in 2011, will be hosting a week long Champagne Safari to include an opening party on Saturday 1 October, in collaboration with its Champagne partners and gin producer Sipsmith.

The aim of the week is to celebrate the diversity of Champagne through a variety of “approachable and accessible” experiences, with events hosted by the likes of Lanson, Laurent-Perrier, Mumm, Taittinger, Perrier-Jouet and Louis Roederer planned.

So fizz fans, get ready for a week of sparkling entertainment.
