Disabled woman refused wine in Tesco
British supermarket giant Tesco has apologised to a disabled woman for refusing to sell her wine because staff thought she was drunk.

Debbie Nixon, 43, was turned away from the checkout at a Tesco Express store in Wistaston, Cheshire when she was trying to buy two bottles of wine for her birthday.
Despite being completely sober, Ms Nixon – who suffers from a severe stammer and uses a walking stick – was accused by staff of being drunk and was refused service.
Ms Nixon tried to explain her disability to staff but was ignored, and the cashier refused to apologise for turning her away, she claims
Ms Nixon, from Tunstall, Staffordshire, told the Daily Mail: “It left me feeling very upset. I think the staff should be more aware of the needs of disabled customers.”
A Tesco spokesperson told the newspaper: “We work extremely hard to provide fantastic service to all of our customers.
“We are in the process of contacting Ms Nixon to apologise for this misunderstanding and would love to welcome her back to our store.”
Hi Neal.
I feel so disappointed that they treated the woman just like that. I don’t know that story of the staff but hopefully if they encounter a customer who needs assistance, they’ll help them.
The same thing has recently happened to me,
