Codorníu launches global campaign
Over 420 million people worldwide are set to be reached by Codorníu’s new ad campaign, launched today.
The Cava brand expects 25 million Britons to see its online video and London Underground adverts.
The artist who designed the video has also drawn adverts for Heineken and Disney.
“2015 has been the year of Cava’s recovery,” said Javier Pagés, CEO of the Codorníu Raventós group.
The campaign launches globally today, running in Britain, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Scandinavia, the US and Latin America.
It comes at the start of the Christmas period, a time in which has over 30% of Codorníu’s sales occur.
The online commercial, an animated video made using illustrations, was designed by Conrad Roset; who has drawn adverts for brands as varied as Disney, Coca-Cola, Skoda and Barcelona F.C.
Of the Codorníu campaign, Mr Roset said: “As inspiration I have used the posters that Ramón Casas and other art nouveau artists such as Miguel Utrillo and Julio Tubilla drew.”
Codorníu is Spain’s oldest family business, and has made wine since the 16th century.
The campaign is designed to celebrate 1872, the year the world’s first Cava was bottled.
“What we are presenting is much more than a Christmas advert,” said Mr Pagés. “We want to take the Codorníu brand beyond conventions.”
