Beer lorry crashes into pub
A beer delivery truck forced the closure of an Edinburgh street after it crashed into a pub yesterday afternoon.
Calton Road in Edinburgh was closed late yesterday afternoon after the lorry apparently slipped from an elevated pavement and crashed into the side of the Black Bull pub below – which it presumably was delivering to.
As reported by the Edinburgh Evening News, the lorry may have slipped on cobblestones that were slick following heavy rain earlier in the day.
The eight tonne truck crushed a low stone wall in the process with masonry and beer kegs seen scattered across the road in various photographs.
Luckily no injuries were reported. The crash was also not quite as spectacular as this crash in the US this August or other great booze breakages that have occurred over the years.
