Pascual Toso welcomes winemaker
Argentine winery Pascual Toso has announced that Felipe Stahlschmidt is joining its team as its new chief winemaker.

Stahlschmidt comes to Pascual Toso from Catena, where he oversaw its Vista Flores winery, managed a team of eleven winemakers, and made some of its best-selling wines, including Catena Zapata.
In Stahlschmidt’s new role, he will serve as winemaker and custodian to Pascual Toso’s 1,000 riverside acres that lie in Barrancas, Mendoza.
Pascual Toso, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, is one of Mendoza’s oldest wineries, specialising in Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from the old vines of the estate.
Stahlschmidt said: “Enrique Toso and the team at Pascual Toso have given me an incredible opportunity to work with some of Mendoza’s best terroir and to improve upon what are already some of Argentina’s best wines”.
Stahlschmidt graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza with an Agronomic Engineer degree in 2003 and is “one of the top winemakers in Argentina,” Pascual Toso said.
