President Jinping was reportedly keen to try traditional British ale during his state visit to the UK.
The pair went to The Plough at Cadsden, a pub that is a short walk away from the official countryside residence of the Prime Minister, Chequers.
The 20 minute visit took place after talks were held on “domestic priorities and foreign policy issues”, a government spokesperson said.
The five-day state visit has also seen the president stay at Buckingham Palace. On the opening night of the trip, Jinping was served Ridgeview wines at a banquet with the Queen.
he ate fish and chips and downed a pint of IPA in 20 mins. He should be a Chelsea fan.
@drinksbusiness – same mistake again! President Xi, or President Xi Jinping NOT President Jinping.
