MWM reveals speakers for Wine in China conferences

Ahead of its annual Wine in China conferences in Hong Kong and Shanghai next month, Meiburg Wine Media has announced its list of speakers representing the China wine trade.

With a packed program of 13 seminars and 45-50 speakers comprising China’s wine experts and representatives, the Wine in China conferences aim to demystify China’s perennially tricky wine market.

A round up of speakers from the trade include:

  • Peter Dixon, general manager of Greater China from Treasury Wine Estates
  • Angela Zhou, sales manager from beverage logistics company, JF Hillebrand China
  • Gregory De‘Eb of Crown Wine Cellars
  • Patricio de La Fuente Saez, managing director of importers, Links Concept in China and Hong Kong
  • Helene Ponty, from Ponty Winery now the biggest exporter of Canon Fronsac wines throughout China
  • Judy Chan, President of Grace Vineyard in Shanxi

This is the third Wine in China conference in Hong Kong which will be on 4 November and a second will be held in Shanghai for the first time on 10 November.

Debra Meiburg MW, said: “A dynamic and ever-evolving market, China is probably the most baffling and intimidating for international winemakers, given its plethora of unwritten rules, import complexities, government influence and rapidly-evolving consumer dynamics. That’s why this year we’re really focusing on current trends, untapped markets and future opportunities. Our aim is to crack the market wide open and show how much potential there is, beyond all the grandstanding news headlines.

“It offers practical, market-ready information and tips, and the open-symposium-style format offers the opportunity for plenty of Q&A and audience-speaker interaction, so participants can get answers to all their questions about various elements of the market”.
