Chandon signs on as McLaren sponsor
Argentine wine brand Chandon has become the official partner of the McLaren Honda Formula 1 team, strengthening its efforts to further infiltrate the UK market.

The “long term” agreement was signed yesterday at the McLaren Technology Centre in Surrey, England, by Christophe Navarre, chairman and CEO of Moët Hennessy, and Ron Dennis, McLaren Technology Group chairman and CEO, alongside McLaren racing driver Jensen Button.
“It is extremely exciting that Moët Hennessy has chosen to join with the McLaren Honda team through Chandon to form a unique, long-term partnership”, said Dennis. “The fit between Chandon and McLaren Honda is a natural one with both sharing a passion to innovate in whatever we do, combined with a unique style and approach. It is a great privilege for everyone at McLaren Honda to partner with Chandon, one of iconic brands in the prestigious Moët Hennessy portfolio.”
The Argentine Chandon brand was the first daughter company of Moët Henessay, owned by LVMH, to launch outside of France in 1959 and produces a range of sparkling wines. Last year it launched a méthode traditionelle sparkling wine made from grapes sourced in the Uco Valley, with Moët Hennessy targeting the gap between Champagne and the rest of the sparkling category in the UK.
Its launch, and this recent partnership with McLaren, further bolsters the company’s efforts to further grow its presence in the UK, having confirmed plans to invest £1.5 million in this market earlier this year.
