Mixologists from Hong Kong bar hotspots have created individual cocktails using high-end gin brand, D1 London Gin to launch ‘Gintober.’
With an emphasis on “innovative and unexpected flavours” such as fig, chocolate, calamasi, yuzu, Lavandula, sun-moon pouchong tea, ginseng, saffron, and Sichuan peppers, the unusual creations include “Magical Sour” from Topiary served in a skull to emulate D1 London’s “floral skull” design, the Back Bar at Ham & Sherry’s “Poison Apple” and “D’punch” from Boujis.
Launched in Hong Kong last summer, D1 London Gin uses a high percentage of botanicals, including coriander, orange and lemon peel, angelica root, cassia bark, almond and liquorice and nettles selected by its master tea blender.
Customers of the following Hong Kong bars: The Woods, Topiary, Check-in Taipei, Boujis, Bibo, Isola, Alibi, Il Ritrovo, Arena Bar by Zerve, Ce La Vi, Butler Shelter, Kowloon Shangri-La and Seasons by Olivier Elzer can claim their free D1 London Gin cocktails by Instagramming a picture of it with the hashtag #D1Gintober.
At the close of October, the photo with the most likes will be awarded a one year supply of D1 London Gin and tonic water.
D1 London Gin founder, Dominic Limbrey said “We’re excited to work with the talented mixologists of Hong Kong to launch D1 Gintober as a platform for the versatility of D1 London Gin. The local cocktail culture is strong in this market, and bartenders will put their best works forward to impress consumers during this month-long virtual pub-crawl.”
