Dog causes beer truck crash

The driver of a Bud Light truck in Florida managed to crash his vehicle after he was “distracted by his dog”.

Driver Malcolm Wilcox at the scene of the crash – with the distracting pup that was the cause under one arm.

Malcolm Wilcox lost control of the vehicle in Hernando County, Florida and spilled thousands of cans of Bud Light across the road.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that, “he collided with the center median before overturning about 7:30 a.m. He had drifted to the shoulder of the roadway after his small dog distracted him, then turned too hard to his left to correct the drift.”

Neither the driver or the dog were injured but he was ticketed for careless driving according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Wilcox joins the long line of hauliers from across the world whose precious cargo has ended up scattered across the tarmac although his crash was likely less expensive than this crash in 2013 which saw cases of Veuve Clicquot decorating a motorway in Connecticut nor did thirsty locals get a chance to pounce on the liquor before authorities arrived as has happened before in South Africa and Scotland.

Nor was Wilcox’s accident quite on a par with our compilation of other great booze breakages.

Stranger lorryloads of produce have ended up on US roads recently including thousands of gallons of Red Bull in Florida, 40,000 pounds of ham in Georgia, 75 gallons of maple syrup in New Hampshire and – not exactly on the road as above it – 14 million bees in Washington.
