Beer supports air ambulance charity
Pub goers in the west of England will soon be able to support the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity with a new beer.
Brewed by the Bespoke Brewery in Gloucestershire, “Cheeky Choppy” will be available on draught and in bottle, with 10 pence from every pint going to the charity.
Despite the slightly “Carry on” name (the result of an online poll) the GWAAC does vital work across the West Country airlifting critically injured or ill people to the nearest hospital and is completely reliant on charitable donations to stay operational.
As the brewery’s founder, Mike Bayliss, himself said: This is something very close to my heart as my son and his friend were airlifted to hospital following a car accident last year.
“You really never know when either you or a loved one will need them.”
Nicole Bigbee, GWAAC community fundraising coordinator, told the Bath Chronicle: “This is a really unique way to support us, and I am excited for Cheeky Chopper to hit the shelves.
“We are so grateful to Bespoke Brewery for making this beer for us. It is a great fundraising opportunity.”
The beer will be launched on 29 August and GWAAC is currently looking for pubs in the Bath, Bristol, North Somerset, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire areas to stock it.
