Grain Store to open in Gatwick Airport

Chef Bruno Loubet is to open a second outpost of his London restaurant the Grain Store in the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport.

As reported by Bloomberg, Grain Store Café & Bar is slated to open at Gatwick Airport in November and will feature an all-day menu of seasonal British dishes.

Taking travellers lack of time into account, dishes will take no longer than 15 minutes to arrive, while a standalone bar will serve seasonal cocktails.

Grain Store in King’s Cross goes against the grain by putting vegetables centre stage and giving fish and meat cameos rather than staring roles in its dishes.

“Gatwick is a window to the world for my message that you can have food that is colourful, tasty and fun with more vegetables and less meat,” Loubet told Bloomberg.

‘‘I want to show people that vegetables aren’t horrible. It’s good to get the chance to eat fresh produce before flying instead of loading up with burgers and fried food,” he added.

Grain Store Café & Bar will be designed by Russell Sage Studios, the company behind the interiors of The Savoy Grill, Social Eating House, Bread Street Kitchen and Dishoom.

Loubet is due to close his pop-up, Grain Store Unleashed at the Zetter Hotel in Clerkenwell, at the end of the month.
