Louis Latour Agencies signs Gosset
Louis Latour Agencies marked its 25th anniversary last night with the announcement that it has taken on UK distribution for Champagne Gosset.
Announcing the news, which will be effective from 1 August 2015 and marks the first Champagne addition to the company’s portfolio, managing director Will Oatley described Gosset as “a perfect fit and a perfect synergy for Louis Latour Agencies.”
Founded in 1584, Champagne Gosset is based in Aÿ and claims to be the oldest producer of wine in the region. Its Chardonnay-led house style is notable for avoiding malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness, although in recent years an element of MLF has been introduced to create a softer style. Currently represented in the UK by McKinley Vintners, Gosset has traditionally focused its attention primarily towards the on-trade sector.
Oatley also used the company’s anniversary event to announce that its team would be moving over the summer from the current premises in Mayfair to a new London location.
Louis Latour Agencies, which was founded in 1990 as a subsidiary of Burgundy house Louis Latour, has since built up an agency portfolio that includes Craggy Range, Henry Fessy, Vidal-Fleury, McHenry Hohnen, Simmonet-Febvre, Wakefield and Viu Manent, among others.
