Spanish Chamber in HK hosts La Feria bash
It’s time to dust off those castanets and tuck into chorizo and churros this weekend as Le Feria dances into Hong Kong.
Hosted by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, the event emulates the iconic Spanish festival which takes place in Seville two weeks after Easter to welcome in the spring.
Hispanophiles can feast on tapas, Sangria, Rioja, Cava, churros and the best in Iberico ham as well as seeing a Flamenco show by Clara Ramona and listening to Sevillanas, the traditional folk music of Seville.
Alfonso Ballesteros, the Secretary General said: “This is one of our biggest festivals in Spain and can go on for two days without stopping! Even though it originated in Seville, it spread to other major cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Cordoba and Valencia and is enjoyed by absolutely everybody.
“In Hong Kong we are lucky to have a huge community here who love Spain. Last year we had over two thousand people over the two days so this year we plan to make it even bigger.”
La Feria will be held at The Space in Central and after the festival closes on Saturday at 8pm, the networking Sevilla Party kicks off and continues until 1am.
Tickets for La Feria are HKD$150 for La Feria, HKD$250 for the Sevilla Party and include two tokens for either food or drink. La Feria tickets are available from Eventbrite or by emailing the Spanish Chamber. Sevilla Party tickets are available separately here.
La Feria comprises four turns over the two days starting from 12pm on Saturday and finishing at 8pm on Sunday. Tickets on the door will sell at HKD$220.
Visitors can find out more information on La Feria by liking the Spanish Chamber’s Facebook page.
