HDH announces ‘Celebration of Burgundy’ sale
Hart Davis Hart has announced the date for its annual “Celebration of Burgundy” sale in Chicago which is estimated to fetch US$2-$4 million.
Taking place on 28 March, the sale will feature just over 1,440 lots exclusively comprised of some of the finest wines from Burgundy. “With worldwide demand for Burgundy at an all-time high”, the house is expecting bidders from around the world.
Past sales have been 100% sold and last year’s two-day sale of Burgundy achieved over US$4m.
One hundred and forty-four domains are represented, with vintages ranging from 1949 to 2013 and boasting “encyclopaedic” arrays of Coche-Dury, Dujac, Fourrier, Jayer, Leflaive, Leroy, Rousseau, Roumier and de Vogüé.
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti will of course be well represented, with 133 lots spanning 39 vintages and is expected to achieve US$722,350-$1,077,600.
As well as wines consigned by prominent collectors, there are ex-cellar consignments from Fourrier and Huedlot-Noëllat.
White Burgundy will be well represented by offerings from Coche-Dury, DRC, Leflaive, Leroy and Ravenau.
