Vodka and Champagne on tap at Brits
Guests to the Brit Awards 2015 quaffed their way through 16,000 bottles of Champagne, 10,000 bottles of beer and 4,000 bottles of wine at lasts night’s ceremony, followed by bottles of boutique vodka Iordanov – the official drinks partner of the Sony Brit Awards after party.
Madonna takes a tumble
Stars of the British and international music industry descended on the O2 Arena in Greenwich last night for the annual awards show with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Kanye West and Madonna in attendance.
While West caused controversy over his use of the “N word” on stage, Madonna’s performance was perhaps the most memorable with the pop icon taking a spectacular tumble on stage as a dancer attempted to remove her giant cape.
Guests tucked into a three-course meal with dessert, comprising a classic lemon possett recipe dating from the 1600s alongside pistachio sponge, topped with candied lemon sherbets and a pillow of marshmallow meringue, finished with a liquorice stick.
Iordanov Vodka meanwhile was on hand to keep the party going into the night as the official drinks partner to the Sony Brit Awards after party at Sushi Samba at London’s Heron Tower – a major coup for the boutique brand.
While the guest list for the party was kept under wraps, Sony artists nominated for an award include Beyoncé, One Direction, Foo Fighters, Pharrell Williams, John Legend, George Ezra, Paloma Faith, Calvin Harris, Mark Ronson and Rita Ora.
Guests to the event were served bespoke Iordanov Vodka cocktails including lychee martinis and grapefruit and raspberry collins.
Niko Iordanov, the founder of the brand, said: “There is a nice synergy between Iordanov, which is spirited, sexy and all about the experience, and the BRIT Awards so the opportunity to sponsor the after party made perfect sense.
“The partnership reflects the brand’s new direction opening a narrative with the music, fashion and arts industry, and is the first in a series of exciting partnerships to be announced this year.”
The vodka brand’s Brits bottle
Produced in one of Germany’s oldest distilleries, Iordanov vodka is made from 100% fine wheat and the demineralised crystal-clear water of the Vogelsberg highlands, distilled five times and filtered through charcoal.
The vodka is already sold at Harvey Nichols and served at some of London’s most exclusive venues including The Sanctum Hotel, OXO Tower and The ME Hotel’s Radio Rooftop Bar.
Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith were the night’s biggest winners with Sheeran performing at the event and taking home the award for best British male solo artist. Smith meanwhile was awarded the breakthrough artist.
Are you sure these numbers are right? Seems like an awful lot!
