Obama mocked for beer ‘pinkie’
US President Barack Obama got a bashing on Twitter after eagle eyed viewers spotted him committing an apparently inexcusable blunder – raising his pinkie while sipping a beer.
The offending digit
The President had invited NBC’s Savannah Guthrie from the Today show to the White House to taste some of his home brews when he made the apparent faux pas.
Twitter users were quick to mock the President with one user, @sleepdoctorJoe tweeting: “No self respecting man from Chicago drinks a beer with his pinkie raised; nor drinks a beer adorned with a lemon wedge.”
Another, @sadsince1964, had short thrift for Obama’s antics tweeting: “I lost what respect I had for Obama when he lifted his pinkie while sipping a beer. Man card revoked.”
While Steve Chernoski, voice of reason, quite rightly pointed out that perhaps Obama’s pinkie was receiving undue attention.
