LWF launches stand for unsigned talent

London Wine Fair has announced the addition of a new exhibition area for this year’s event aimed at discovering unsigned winemaking talent from around the world.

Wines Unearthed will make its debut at this year’s 35th London Wine Fair, set to take place from 18 to 20 May at London’s Kensington Olympia.

Created in association with JK marketing and The Wine Agency, Wines Unearthed will be dedicated to global wine producers seeking UK representation and will be a distinct stand-alone “village” showcasing up to 70 wineries.

Only wineries that meet the fair’s pre-selection criteria will be afforded a space on the stand to ensure participants are appropriate for the UK market. Those participating will be invited to take part in a workshop seminar hosted by Robert Joseph, wine business advisor and journalist, giving information and advice on pricing, distribution channels and marketing in the UK on Sunday, 17th May.

A drinks reception will also take place on Monday evening, exclusively for exhibitors within Wines Unearthed and Esoterica – which showcases the portfolios of UK-based niche and micro-importers – to encourage networking between the two groups.

Ross Carter, show director, said: “We want to give these wineries a truly immersive experience; whilst the ultimate aim is to generate export leads, we also want them to come away with a much greater understanding of the UK trade at large – which, frankly, can be somewhat complicated.”
