Barrymore Wines was founded by the actress in 2010 with this latest release, a 2013 Pinot Grigio described as “bright and crisp” with flavours of “lemon drop”, Asian pear and honeydew melon alongside “wet stone” minerality – a “hallmark of the Monterey region’s rocky vineyards”.

The actress, famous for her roles in films such as Charlie’s Angels and The Wedding Singer said: “I love the camaraderie of sitting around the table, sharing wine and making memories with family and friends. Pinot Grigio has been a perennial favorite because it’s vibrant and complements such a variety of situations and foods. Working with Carmel Road was a natural fit because they focus on creating expressive wines with unique personalities, and it’s such a privilege to make this wine in California.”

Barrymore launched her first Pinot Grigio, Barrymore 2011 Pinot Grigio, Delle Venezie IGT, a dry and fruity white made from grapes grown in the Veneto, Friuli and Alto Adige in northern Italy in 2012.

The Barrymore Wines line is expected to expand to include additional varietals in 2015.

Kris Kato, winemaker at Carmel Road, added: “Drew had a clear vision for this wine, and I’m proud to be able to help bring it to life. Her passion for wine is clear and we love collaborating together.”

The wine is available to purchase online and in selected US stores at a RRP of $14.99.
