Spice Girl gets ID’d in Texas bar

Geri Halliwell nearly had to ‘Give Up on the Good Times’ in a Texas bar after she was accused of being underage by barmy bar staff.

The 42-year-old former Spice Girl was shocked to find herself being questioned by staff and was ordered to show the bar workers identification to prove she was over 21 – the legal drinking age in the US.

Geri – who entered Pete’s Duelling Piano Bar in Austin, Texas, to enjoy a beverage – was left amused by the incident and quickly took to Twitter to share news of the mix-up with her 335,000 followers, reports The Sun.

The ‘Spice Up Your Life’ hitmaker obviously enjoyed her evening out and later shared a photo of the bar.

Kudos to the bartender for following correct protocol. When in doubt, servers and bartenders should ID as they are liable!
    No customer should be offended.
Kudos to Geri for handling it like a lady!

No kudos to the bartender, if he things the lovely Gerri looks under 30 then he should have gone to specsavers. Be worried about ordering a drink from him with that eyesight!!

Not a big deal. I am older than her and still get ID’d whenever I am in the US. It is what they do, particularly in Texas. The last time I was there, one needed a license to drink! (aka another way for the state to make even more money).
