Parker brings 100-point roadshow to UK
Wine critic Robert Parker has announced a plan to bring his “Grand World Tour” to London early next year.

Due to descend on the UK capital in February 2015, Parker and his team from The Wine Advocate, including Neal Martin, Luis Gutierrez, Monica Larner and editor in chief Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, will present a masterclass and gala dinner featuring Parker’s “personal favourites” from Bordeaux and beyond.
Titled “A Taste of Greatness”, the two hour masterclass will take place at the Royal Courts of Justice on the evening of Thursday 26 February. Priced at £450 per person, up to 500 people will be able to take part in the panel discussion and tasting.
The line-up includes Cos d’Estournel 1982, Leoville Las Cases 2005, Dominus Estate 2010, Hundred Acre Ark Vineyard 2007, Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2011, Domaine Leroy Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru 2011, Masseto 2001, Luciano Sandrone 2000 Barolo Le Vigne, Vega Sicilia Unico 2004 and Valdespino Moscatel Toneles NV.
The next day, Parker will host a black tie “Gala Hedonist’s Dinner” at two-Michelin starred restaurant The Ledbury. Up to 55 guests will be able to pay £1,800 each for the event, which will feature a collection of the critic’s 100 point wines.
The wines for this part of the programme have been announced as Pape Clement Blanc 2009, Marcassin Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard 2008, Peter Michael Winery Ma Danseuse 2010, Colgin Cellars IX Estate 2007, Ausone 2003, Haut-Brion 1989, Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1982 and Hundred Acre Fortification 2007.
The programme follows a similar “sell out” tour of Asia earlier this year and is pitched as offering wine lovers “personal access to the world’s foremost wine critics and the chance to taste some of the greatest wines of Bordeaux.”
In addition, the organisers promise: “Not only will it offer expert information, personal anecdotes about the people behind the labels and the regions, but it will also look at what it is like being a wine critic for the world’s most authoritative and influential wine publication, The Wine Advocate.”
