The secret to ‘grape’ skin
Marks and Spencer aren’t putting anything to waste in finding a use for juiced wine grapes, marketing a new anti-ageing cream that contains grape pulp left over from wine production.
The five-strong anti-ageing range uses reservatrol, a bi-product of wine production derived from the skins of red wine grapes.
Sourced from UK winery Chapel Down in Kent, the product takes the pulp which is removed from the crushed, juiced grapes and transforms it into the cream.
The ‘Pure Super Grape’ range is a result of a five-year collaboration between M&S and a leading UK university and is manufactured locally.
According to M& S the grape extracts have “protective anti-ageing properties and are a potent anti-oxidant.”
The range is now available exclusively in the UK through the supermarket.
