For just three days, patrons will be able to book a spot at Whyte & Mackay’s “The Lion’s Clyde” located in the wheelhouse of the 107-year-old Titan Crane in Clydebank, as part of the scotch whisky brand’s “We Are” campaign.
Boasting spectacular views across Glasgow, the unusual pub is thought to be the world’s first located in a crane, and, at only 23 square metres, will also be one of Scotland’s smallest pubs while open.
Steven Pearson, global marketing director at Whyte & Mackay said: “Whyte & Mackay is one of the best performing brands in the category, both on and off trade. This campaign is about acknowledging our Clydebuilt roots in this important year for Glasgow and also bringing people together to enjoy a dram in their local.
“In addition to opening The Lion’s Clyde we have also invested heavily into ALT media across key sites in Glasgow city and have been running a weighty sampling campaign in World Duty Free Glasgow, designed to encourage brand trial.
“We have a lot more planned for the brand over the next 18 months in both the on and off trades and we are confident that The Lion’s Crane will put the brand firmly in the forefront of consumer’s minds”.
Entry to the bar will be open from June 4 to 6 on a first come, first served basis to those who pre-book via Whyte & Mackay’s Facebook page.
Those with reservations will be picked up by a complementary taxi and taken to the bar in a lift to the top of the crane to enjoy a dram of whisky with up to seven friends for a one hour period.
