IWSC extends deadline for wine producers
The International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) has extended its deadline for UK wine producers to include all 2013 vintages.
A large number of UK wine producers contacted the IWSC after realising many of their still 2013 vintages would not be ready in time to meet the entry deadline.
Ewan Lacey, IWSC general manager, said, “We understood that many of the UK wine producers 2013 vintages would not be ready in time to meet the deadline. Luckily we were able to reschedule our judging days and to extend the date. Last year, UK producers won more medals than ever before.
“Gusbourne Estate in Kent beat international competition to pick up the Bottle Fermented Sparkling Wine Trophy, and they were also awarded English Wine Producer of the Year.
“With this year being our 45th anniversary, we are pleased that UK producers are now able to submit all their latest vintages in time. It’s set to be an exciting year.”
UK wine producers now have until 21 March to submit entries to the competition.
