Croser to address Cabernet genetics at Santa Rita wine workshop
Legendary Aussie winemaker Brian Croser is flying to the UK to discuss the genetics of Cabernet Sauvignon at this week’s Santa Rita wine workshop on Chile and Argentina.
Croser consults for Santa Rita Estates and runs Tapanappa in Australia
Croser, who consults for Santa Rita Estates, is giving a talk entitled Cabernet Family Origins: a global journey and comparative tasting, which will include a tutored tasting of Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Carmenere, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon.
Taking place on 15 and 16 January at One Great George St, London SW1, the workshops are designed to educate the UK trade on the quality and diversity of wines on offer from both Chile and Argentina.
As part of this year’s workshop, wines from South America will be tasted alongside others from around the world in series of comparative tastings.
Winemakers from the full range of Santa Rita Estates’ wineries will also be in attendance, including Sebastián Labbé from Carmen, Andrés Ilabaca from Santa Rita, David Bonomi from Doña Paula and Felipe Ramirez from Nativa. They will be joined by Santa Rita Estates head viticulturalist Sebastián Warnier.
