Lockhart brings Thanksgiving to London
Wines of California has joined forces with London restaurant The Lockhart to celebrate modern US cuisine with a special Thanksgiving menu.
Available from 28 November until 1 December, the £60 line-up of sharing platters includes pairings such as Gnarly Head Viognier with Texas “caviar” and Black Stallion Napa Valley Chardonnay with maple-glazed ham.
Diners will also receive a recipe book offering tips on how to replicate these dishes at home, as well as information on pairing them with Californian wine.
Introducing the initiative, John McLaren, UK director of the Wine Institute of California, said: We’re delighted to have the opportunity to pair California’s food-friendly wines with Lockhart’s wonderful twist on the traditional Thanksgiving feast.”
Meanwhile Gwen Wren, founder of Lockhart London, explained the sharing platter format of the menu, saying: “Thanksgiving is about spending a day with friends and family, sharing a meal (where everyone’s chipped in a bit), sharing and building memories over beautiful wine, and reflecting with gratitude on what matters most.”
The Lockhart opened in Marylebone earlier this year, specialising in food inspired by the cuisine of southern states such as Texas and Louisiana. Its downstairs bar features a broad range of Bourbon and one of the UK’s largest selections of mezcal.
