Domaine Faiveley buys Domaine Dupont-Tisserandot

Key Burgundy estate Domaine Faiveley has acquired Domaine Dupont-Tisserandot in Gevrey-Chambertin.

As reported by the Wine Spectator, the Nuits-Saint Georges-based producer has expanded its holdings in the Côtes de Nuits, adding 20 hectares to Faiveley’s 10 in Gevrey-Chambertin.

The sale includes land in Charmes-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin and Corton Rognet as well as Lavaux St.-Jacques, Les Cazetiers and La Petite Chapelle.

“This acquisition is a major move for us and will strengthen our holdings in the Côte de Nuits,” said the estate’s president and seventh generation family member, Erwan Faiveley.

Domaine Faiveley now owns a total of 140 hectares throughout Burgundy’s Côte d’Or and Côte Chalonnaise.

In the terms of the deal, the current team at Dupont-Tisserandot will stay on to manage the domaine, and the wine labels will remain unchanged.

Dupont-Tisserandot has been run by sisters Patricia Chevillon and Marie-Françoise Guillard since1990, when they took over the property from their father.

The wines have been made by Patricia’s husband Didier Chevillon since 1995 and are known for their richness, concentration, elegance and depth.
