Brits admit to lack of sober sex
One in 10 Brits surveyed in a poll this week said they haven’t had sober sex for six months.
66% of respondents said there weren’t “in the mood” unless they had had a drink
In a poll conducted by online pharmacy UKMedix.com, as many as 11% of 1,811 adults questioned said it was more than half a year since they had made love without being under the influence of alcohol.
When questioned further, two thirds of respondents said there weren’t “in the mood” unless they had had a drink.
Meanwhile, 61% of those surveyed, all of whom were in relationships, admitted that alcohol made them more confident, but 40% also said that being drunk negatively affected their performance in the bedroom.
“We Britons love our booze – in responsible measures, of course – but it seems that we may be letting the alcohol come between us and our partner in the bedroom,” commented Sarah Bailey from UKMedix.com.
She added, “It was shocking to see that as many as one in ten couples haven’t made love sober in over six months. Whilst there’s not necessarily anything wrong with this, our results show that many think booze affects the quality of our lovemaking in a negative way, and so it’s clearly impacting enjoyment between the sheets.”
