Normandy craft cider now available in UK
Duché de Longueville, which is a “naturally sparkling dry cider from Normandy, with no added sugars, yeasts or preservatives”, is now available in over 350 Sainsbury’s stores across the country.
Launched ahead of the Sainsbury’s Vintage Cider Festival, the Duché de Longueville cider is made from pure pressed apple juice, not concentrates, and with a minimum of 90% “Gros Oeillet” apples.
In a statement the company said that these apples are “a varietal that is highly regarded in Normandy for its delicious flavour and thirst-quenching acidity.”
The statement added: “The apple trees grow on a 650 hectare estate near Dieppe in Normandy and are pollinated by bees coming from hives strategically placed around the orchards.”
Also known as a “varietal” cider, the 4.5% abv Duché de Longueville, normally retails for £2.19 per 50cl but will be on offer until 2 July as part of Sainsbury’s Vintage Cider Festival. The offer, which sees the cider available for £1.75 per bottle, will run again at the end of July.
