Tamara Ecclestone spends £30k on Cristal

The daughter of the Formula 1 tycoon, Bernie Ecclestone, has spent over £30,000 on a Champagne-fuelled night out in London.

Tamara Ecclestone bought 28 bottles of Cristal for complete strangers in the Aura club sitting at other tables, including one bottle apparently sent to the paparazzi waiting outside.

The stunt, said to have been spurred on by the arrival of US singer Trey Songz, set the heiress back by £13,020 – she is worth £300 million.

For her own table, however, she then ordered seven bottles of Cristal rosé (£5,740), a Jeroboam of Cristal (£5,000), two magnums of Cristal (£2,660) ad a bottle of Grey Goose vodka (£255).

A bottle of lemonade and a jug apiece of orange and cranberry juice were complimentary.

The final bill came to £30,676.25, including a service charge of £4,000.

The waiting paparazzi finally snapped Ecclestone being helped from the club just after 3am.

Later that morning she posted a photograph on Twitter of her wearing sunglasses while being made-up for a photo shoot.

Ecclestone is just one of several celebrities and financial workers who have been involved in high-profile spending binges of late.

Rapper Jay-Z was said to have spent £250,000 while celebrating New Year’s Eve with Armand de Brignac.

Meanwhile, though lavish, Ecclestone’s bill still falls short of the £120,000 tab run-up by a self-styled “media personality” in exactly the same nightclub, nor the £200,000 record set in Liverpool by a young financial worker.
