Sambrook’s brewery first in London to have Beer Sommelier

Sambrook’s Brewery’s head of sales and marketing has become the first employee of a London brewery to be accredited as a beer sommelier.

Furthermore, Jo Miller is only the seventh female in the world to have gained the certificate, following a series of exams which tested her tasting skills, food and beer matching knowledge and judging beer by category.

Miller commented: “I’m very passionate about beer and have spent the last eight years educating the trade and consumers on different beer styles and food matches.

“I’m delighted to have gained my Beer Sommelier qualification and believe it will help me to enthuse as many people as possible about the beauty of beer.”

Miller will be putting her qualification to good use at the brewery’s new Boadicea Bar, and will be hosting a series of monthly tastings starting on Valentine’s Day with an evening exploring craft beers.
