Beer glasses gauge US election result
A US firm is gauging support for candidates in the upcoming Presidential election by monitoring sales of its special edition Romney and Obama beer glasses.
The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium is keeping a tally of sales for the $7 glasses, which went on sale two weeks ago across its 15 stores.
Voters have the option to choose between current incumbent Barack Obama’s “Four More Beers” glass or challenger Mitt Romney’s “Start A New Tab” edition.
Early sales suggested a slight lead for Romney – unsurprising given the company’s strong presence in Republican Texas. However, Obama’s Democrat supporters are understood to be launching a late surge.
