Boutique hotel group arrives Spring 2013
A new UK boutique hotel group will open its first venue in the Spring, with plans to expand across the rest of the country.
The House Collection has been set up by the team behind Birmingham golf resort The Belfry, with backing from Cambridgeshire investment firm Eastern Counties Finance.
Aiming to provide guests with “affordable luxury and stylish comfort with a distinctive modern edge”, The House Collection’s first hotel will be Poet’s House near Ely cathedral, which will offer 21 bedrooms, function room and a 60-cover restaurant serving “contemporary cuisine with seasonal specialities”.
Expected to open in March 2013, Poet’s House is due to be swiftly followed by a second hotel within the Cambridge area. In an effort to mark a distinction from “generic mainstream hotels”, The House Collection will focus on distinctive properties with a maximum of 45 bedrooms and preserving their character.
Outlining the concept, David Toulson-Burke, managing director of the House Collection, explained: “Designed with discerning guests in mind, our hotels will meet growing demand for high-quality hospitality in mid-Anglia and the Cambridge area.”
What’s more, he promised, “With the emphasis on style, comfort and attention to detail, we will offer our guests a very different experience to mainstream hotels.”
