Robin Williams sells vineyard

Actor and comedian Robin Williams is to sell his estate and vineyard in Napa Valley.

The 653-acre estate in the Mayacamas Mountains is on the market for US$35 million.

As well as the 23-acre vineyard, the future owner will get a 20,000 square foot Italianate villa complete with a 65-foot long infinity pool and in-house cinema.

There is also a temperature-controlled cellar, tennis courts, three kevlar-encased safe rooms, stables, 12 bathrooms (but only five bedrooms) and all the other trappings of a luxury lifestyle.

Williams was recently married in the area and once joked to CBS that he did his rehab in wine country “to keep my options open”.

The vines are predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Cabernet Franc and Merlot as well.

The grapes are sold to Robert Craig for his Mount Verdeer Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been scored in the high 90s by critic Robert Parker on numerous occasions.
