Largest collection of Sherries in UK to be showcased
The Sherry Institute of Spain has announced it will be hosting The Great Sherry Tasting, a trade and press tasting designed to showcase the largest collection of Sherries in the UK.
Beltran Domecq will host two tutored tastings during the day
The event will also mark the first visit to the UK of the newly-elected president of the Consejo Regulador, Beltran Domecq.
“There is a great deal of support for Sherry throughout the UK wine trade and we want to continue some of the great work being achieved by showcasing the diversity of our wonderful wines from Jerez,” said Beltran Domecq, president of the Consejo Regulador.
Over 20 producers will be represented with more than 100 Sherries from all the UK’s leading importers.
Event organiser, Graham Hines, UK director of The Sherry Institute of Spain, explained; “This is an exciting opportunity for visitors to taste the most comprehensive range of Sherries I’ve ever known, and it comes at a time when Sherry is gaining a great deal of attention from the trade, press and consumers alike.” He continued, “We are delighted to have received such a positive response from the trade and will be welcoming some big names from the on-trade too. The event is going to be a real celebration of things to come.”
The tasting is open to all trade and press, and will focus on the different styles of Sherry, including rare and aged wines with a special selection of En Rama styles also being shown.
