Happy National Daiquiri Day
Today is National Daiquiri Day and Funkin is encouraging everyone to make a Daiquiri to celebrate.
Although the drink was invented in 1898 in the town of Daiquiri in Cuba by an engineer named Jennings Stockton Cox, it is a cocktail usually associated with more famous drinkers like Ernest Hemingway.
The original drink was made with lime juice, sugar, and white rum but then, around 1940, Hemingway inspired the frozen variety sold at El Floridita bar in Havana. Nowadays you can order a daiquiri with almost any kind of fruit.
Funkin with National Daiquiri Day and National Tequila Day (24 July) so close together, are hoping people will use their cocktail recipes to celebrate.
Made with 100% natural fruits, Funkin’s range of cocktail mixers ensures authentic tasting cocktails.
